Every strong essay follows the same simple shape. Here is what goes in each part.
Say what the question is asking. Give a little background and state your main point.
Use one idea per paragraph. Start with the point, then explain it.
Back each point with a source, such as a book, article, case or data.
Explain what the evidence means. This is where most marks are won.
Answer the question in a few lines. Do not add new evidence.
List every source in the style your university asks for. Check that each one matches.

Underline the command word and the topic. Words such as analyse, evaluate, discuss and compare ask for different things: analyse breaks a topic into parts, evaluate weighs strengths and limits, discuss looks at more than one view, and compare sets two things side by side.
A short plan saves hours. Write your main point in one sentence, list three or four supporting points and note one source for each. If a point has no evidence behind it yet, find some or drop it.
Start with your reading list, then use peer-reviewed journals, academic books, official reports and case law. Avoid leaning on a single source, and note each citation as you write so nothing is missing at the end.
Read it aloud to catch awkward sentences. Make sure every paragraph supports your main point, every citation appears in the reference list and the word count is within the limit. Then run a similarity check.
Attach lecture notes, your reading list, tutor feedback and any draft you have already written. Tell us how formal or personal the essay should sound. A sample of your own writing helps the tone match.
When your schedule is full. Several deadlines in one week, shifts at work and exam revision all at once. Handing one essay to a specialist lets you catch up without cutting corners.
When you do not know where to start. A blank page and a vague question are the most common reasons students contact us. A clear outline gives you a strong starting point.
When the subject is difficult. Law, nursing, engineering and finance have their own terminology and standards, so the essay stays specific rather than generic.
